Life has decidedly taken it up a notch for me this July.
I turned a year older.
Went up one dress size.
Realised our almost 8 month old kitten has no immediate plans of growing into a dignified cat.
Kids are going to call me Aunty
Shop assistants will suggest that I try the medium or large sizes.
And my feet are never going to fully recover from the furball's play bites.
Life has also made me happier, content and excited about the future. So even if it means larger clothes, more candles on the cake, and demented little cats; Bring it on!

attempt at poetry
dull days
were made for these
pouring rain
a purring cat
a mug of tea
the tug of a snagged claw
a dog-eared Wilbur Smith
a grey cat named Violet
an unexpected call
from a forgotten pal
promising to be in touch
nothing to talk about
looking for company
old photographs of you and me
thinking of what used to be
clamour for a grown-up life
quietly silent now
grateful and content
a warmed heart
a cosy home
